Sunday morning at 10:30 am is usually our best attended service of the week including people of all ages from teens to eighties from Newark and surrounding areas. Hymns and Christian songs, both old and new, are sung.
Sunday morning at 10:45 am is when the children go off to the Seekers Sunday School. In Seekers we aim to teach our children faithfully from the Bible, lessons that will stand them in good stead for the future. We learn through Bible teaching, song and craft. We start to teach children from a very early age in our ‘First Steps’ class from 1-3yrs. They they move on to Seekers from 3-11yrs, changing classes accordingly in September when the school year changes, appropriate for each age group. All children are welcome.
‘Jesus said, “Let little children come unto me, and do not ever hinder them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”‘ 14th verse of Mark, chapter 10.’
Preaching from the Bible takes a prominent place; usually the sermon will be one of a series in which we study systematically a book of the Bible. Examples from recent years include:
- 2014: Exodus
- 2015: Titus
- 2016: Psalms
- 2016: Revelation
- 2017: Gospel of John
We aim to combine the worship of God (with dignity but not dullness), preaching of the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ, and a broadly-based teaching of the Bible.
